Students will learn about various design features, so that they can create their own databases from a template and set up Notes databases in their own way. By examining and working with the underlying design of a database, students will gain in-depth knowledge of the elements of a Notes database documents, forms, views, folders, agents, and the access control list. In addition, students will extend their Notes capabilities by learning how to share data between applications.
Windows 95 Orientation, and Notes 4.6 Mail Features or Notes 4.6 Database Features, or equivalent knowledge.
Students will learn how to share data between applications, create private views and personal folders, create a private database from a template, and create agents.
This course is not for novice Notes users. Students enrolling in this course should understand the basics of Notes and how databases function. This course is the next step for end-users who have mastered the day-to-day use of Notes.
Students who are pursuing certification can take the appropriate application development or system administration courses.
