Bespoke Excel Functionality Training
The Brief
We have been successfully delivering bespoke Excel functionality courses for Ernst & Young National Business Modelling unit since 1999 and for their new graduate intake since 2003.
The feedback from these sessions has been excellent and we have been awarded this training every year since, the most recent being the 2006/7 intake.
Late in 2005 the Transaction Advisory Services group approached us as one area they had been struggling with was their Intermediate Excel skills training. They had historically run this internally, but were struggling to get people to deliver this session.
They looked to us to provide them with Intermediate Excel training courses for a general corporate finance audience - for Executives/ Senior Executives who needed more detailed Excel/Modelling skills.
The Solution
Following the successful delivery of our 2 day Excel functionality course originally for both the Business Modelling team and new graduate intake, we developed a one day variant of this to meet the new needs of the Transaction Advisory Services Group.
These courses were developed in conjunction with the group’s Technical Training Manager. The courses demonstrate the functionality and programming capabilities of Microsoft Excel and cover a very wide range of functions, specific to the needs of a general corporate finance audience.
Business gains
The members of the Transaction Advisory Group attending these courses now have a solid grounding in the capabilities of Microsoft Excel, specifically tailored to their own in-house corporate finance needs.
These courses had been successful in meeting the original brief of providing them with comprehensive Excel modelling skills.
The continuing training partnership with the Business modelling unit, training the new graduate intake and now the Transaction Advisory Services group has benefited both companies and we are proud of our association with one of the leaders in their field.
